Patek Philippe 5172
The Patek Philippe reference 5172 is one of the manufacture's finest contemporary chronographs, combining vintage-inspired design with a beautifully engineered in-house manually wound movement. Introduced in 2019, the 5172 is powered by the Calibre CH 29-535 PS, Patek Philippe's first fully in-house manually wound chronograph movement, featuring a column wheel, horizontal clutch and six patented innovations that enhance precision, reliability and ease of operation. Its elegantly balanced dial is characterised by a classic two-register chronograph layout with a 30-minute counter, small seconds and a tachymeter scale, while applied Arabic numerals and syringe-style hands pay tribute to Patek Philippe's celebrated chronographs of the 1940s and 1950s. Produced in white gold and later rose gold, with a variety of dial colours throughout its production, the 5172 has become one of Patek Philippe's most admired modern chronograph references, celebrated for its exceptional movement architecture, timeless styling and faithful interpretation of one of the manufacture's most iconic complications.
